19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former coach Cervara.

Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from spring of the previous year.

Success also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring reactions on court had led observers to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.

He fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five games to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a close third set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
