Nearly four and a half months following the previous coach's initial media briefing as Rangers head coach, successor Danny Rohl faced reporters at Ibrox for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the task ahead of him is well known, considering his predecessor's chaotic and disappointing 123-day tenure.

The former Sheffield Wednesday boss was accompanied by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the much-criticized duo of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

However, what precisely did we learn from the young coach's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

Rohl's Main Priority - Winning is Everything

One thing emerged loud and clear from Rohl's first appearance before the local press - he recognizes the need to secure victories, and do so quickly.

The previous manager Martin managed just 17 matches and 123 days as manager, so the inquiry emerged about how long the new man thinks is realistic to transform the struggling team.

While skillfully avoiding a specific response that could bring later expectations, Rohl's message was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he stated. "That is crucial.
"In football you have limited opportunity. You can discuss long-term vision but we know it concerns the short-term and the short-term involves securing victories. This is my requirement.
"One thing remains clear - I need every squad member to understand how we want to perform. I come back to my primary message: it's winning, it's attractive and it's together. If you follow this sequence, I believe that I will remain for years at the club."

Pressure is Normal

The previous manager needed a police escort to leave the stadium after his last game in charge.

We've seen how toxic situations can become at football clubs when results are poor. Protests have nearly become a regular part of the matchday experience on each part of Glasgow currently.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the question was posed about what qualities Rohl believes he possesses that would allow him to handle, never mind thrive, in one of the most pressurized positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion expectations in football is normal," he stated. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I think certain individuals might mention my age but I have been a decade and a half on this path. I had a great chance to be at the German club and serve as just the assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to manage a team and the demands involved.
"When you start getting results and then certain people will say you must produce entertaining football. That's the next stage but that's exactly what I want. I enjoy that challenge and I'm excited for what's ahead."

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had plenty of questions from the media directed at Thelwell.

Much discussion has concerned the hiring of his son as head of recruitment, with supporters skeptical about his credentials for the position.

Nevertheless, he defended and explained the choice to bring his son to Ibrox.

"It remains uncomfortable to hear and in appearance I believe we all agreed when we made this decision to hire him that he'd be seen negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The reality of circumstances is that we aim to attract the top talent here.
"My perspective on his professional path and situation is he required no my assistance in football.
"He served at Aston Villa as a senior scout, after which he joined Norwich City as head of scouting and then was elevated to development role.
"Before we recruited him, multiple Premier League clubs wanted to acquire him. What we did from the start of proceedings was consult with the CEO, Andrew and vice-chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I was extremely open and I think he likely experienced a stricter process than any other employee by the team.
"I'm certain is that he will work 25/8 to be successful for Rangers and I anticipate to him proving that he's going to be an excellent staff member for Rangers."

Thelwell also supported the signing of forward Chermiti, who arrived at the club for a reported first payment of £8m, after failing to find the net in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portugal young international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - once more for significant money in a £15m transfer.

He was asked if he stands by his multi-million pound purchase, who is yet to register in seven matches for the club.

"Absolutely, completely," Thelwell responded. "I believe Youssef Chermiti represents who's possesses great ability.
"I've never questioned him whatsoever. Similarly, I believe Danny will help to maximize the potential out of the player.
"These are initial stages for him, he's a young talent and naturally with young talents they sometimes take time.
"But I'm certain over the course of his time at the club he'll demonstrate that he's a very, very good player."

The CEO Acknowledges Fan Disappointment and Anger

Stewart was also in the media scrutiny, given the criticism that has been directed his way by some of the club's own supporters.

Additionally, there was a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the recent draw with United inviting him - and the sporting director - to pack his bags before being removed for him.

Similar to the football director, Stewart didn't evade the topic.

"I completely appreciate the disappointment and anger that fans are experiencing because performances recently haven't been good enough and nobody's satisfied with them," he said.
"The pain and disappointment fans experience is matched within the boardroom.
"Recognize that there has to be a channel for those frustrations and in my role, I'm responsible.
"I'm a lightning rod for those and my responsibility as a
